Last week, I had an absolute pleasure attending the State of Search conference for the first time in Dallas, which was hosted by DFWSEM and powered by Bing Ads. After taking a week to gather my thoughts, go through many pages of notes, and apply newly learned strategies to client campaigns, I’m feeling incredibly refreshed and inspired. The show provided an open forum for discussion amongst marketing peers and a highly effective and intimate learning environment. It was a delight seeing familiar faces and meeting many new ones as well!
For the second edition of my interview series, I’m very pleased to have Melissa Kowalchuk sharing some of her insights on lead nurturing, managing client relationships, and various aspects of working in marketing. Melissa recently joined Slalom Consulting as their Customer Engagement Consultant in San Diego. She has an impressive marketing background and a diverse skill set from previous roles she has held with Eloqua/Oracle, Heinz Marketing, Jolkona, and Trupanion Pet Insurance. When it comes to marketing technology, lead generation, and email marketing, she’s incredibly well versed and a good brain to pick!
It has only been two weeks since I began freelancing full time, and my, what a ride it has been thus far.
I feel extremely grateful and fortunate to be working on some really interesting accounts right out of the gate, with goal-oriented clients, to have a near full work load, and to be learning an incredible amount from Pamela Lund. Like any job, there’s a learning curve and adjustment period which can be quite overwhelming, and that is has been, however, it has also been equally exciting. After wrapping up each day, I’ve been taking some time to reflect on the challenges faced, the accomplishments achieved, how each task fits into the bigger picture, and the new things that were learned. As antonymous as it may be, I’ve been feeling simultaneously overwhelmed and calm. It’s an odd combination, however, it’s the best way I can explain life as of late, and in no way is that a bad thing. Do you recall a time you felt that way?
To kick off my Business Bits interview series, I am extremely thrilled to have Casie Gillette sharing some of her insights on agency life, public speaking, and online marketing. Casie is the Director of Online Marketing at KoMarketing Associates, a B2B marketing firm based in the beautiful city of Boston where she leads the digital marketing strategy for clients, helps guide company initiatives, service offerings, and the organization’s presence online.
After 3.5 years, I am wrapping up my time at Third Door Media. Wow, writing and saying it aloud still feels quite surreal and bittersweet. It has been an incredible ride and I will be forever grateful to have had the opportunity to work with such a talented, creative, and driven team. This definitely isn’t goodbye; it’s see you around, my TDM family.
