Recently, Facebook began rolling out their new Leads Center to accounts for testing. Facebook’s Leads Center is a new built-in lead management tool that can help businesses organize and manage their customer contact information, similar to what other standalone CRMs offer. While like most new Facebook product releases it is not yet available to all accounts, read on to learn more about Leads Center and if it will be helpful for your business as it further rolls out to accounts in the coming weeks.

How Do I Access Leads Center?

To access Leads Center, you can do so through your Business Page. Facebook shared that you should be able to access it through Business Manager and Ads Manager as well, however, we have not yet seen this appear in our accounts. It is currently only available on desktop, not mobile devices. If you do not see it in your accounts just yet but you are running lead generation objective campaigns in Ads Manager, ask your Facebook rep if you can get early access. If you do not have a rep, keep an eye out as it may roll out this summer into your accounts.

What Can I Do with Leads Center?

With Facebook’s Leads Center, you can organize, track, manage, and reengage with the leads you acquired from your lead generation advertising campaigns within Facebook, directly from your business page. The tools within the Center allow you to set follow up reminders with your contacts, assign your team members to contacts so that they can engage with them, you can also add notes to contacts, filter leads by various categories you assign, by their owners, the dates they were acquired, and more. In addition, you can directly email contacts from Leads Center which is an added convenience for your team. When it comes to your Facebook Ads account, you can also use the contacts in Leads Center to create custom and lookalike audiences using the categories you’ve set up within, thus, allowing you to reach new prospective customers and retarget to existing contacts.

If you do not have a third-party CRM such as Salesforce, MailChimp, or others, this seems like an effective and seamless way to manage your Facebook acquired leads. While many third-party CRMs are and continue to be able to connect with Facebook through custom integrations, Leads Center does not currently have any integrations with external tools.

How Long Are Leads Stored in Leads Center?

If your contacts remain un-modified in Leads Center, Facebook will store them for up to 90 days. If you do modify a contact, Facebook states that they will store it permanently.

Lead Quality and Removing Leads

If you acquire a lead and the quality is low, you can mark it as “bad” and it will automatically be deleted after 90 days. If you would like to delete a lead immediately, that option is not currently available. It too, will have to be tagged as “bad” and then the system will delete it after the 90 day period.

Exporting Leads Out of Leads Center

At this time, businesses cannot export leads in a CSV file directly from Leads Center. While that is the case, you can still go into Ads Manager and Publishing Tools where your leads were collected and stored from your lead generation ad campaigns.

If you do not have an existing CRM or if you’re a startup, small business, or a non-profit, we foresee this being an effective service for businesses that need a place to manage and organize the leads they acquire from their Facebook advertising campaigns.
